Who we are
The website blueoceanlabs.io is published by Thomas Nimmo, trading as Blue Ocean Labs. Blue Ocean Labs is not yet incorporated; when it is, this policy will be updated to name the company. For any question about this policy or your data, write to info@blueoceanlabs.io.
What this website does not do
This website does not ask you for any information. It does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising tools, does not embed social media widgets, and does not load fonts, scripts or videos from third-party services. The videos of our digital presenter are hosted on this website itself; watching them sends no information to anyone else, and they do not record your voice, image or reactions.
Technical data processed by our host
When you visit any website, your browser automatically sends technical information to the server, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., which processes that information to deliver the pages and to protect the site against abuse and attacks.
We do not use this data to identify you, build profiles or combine it with other information. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and working website (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR).
Vercel may process this data in the United States. Its privacy notice describes how long it keeps such data and the safeguards it applies to international transfers, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use them only to reply and to follow up on your request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering messages sent to us. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose and do not add you to any mailing list.
Links to other websites
Our research library links to original sources on other websites, such as EUR-Lex, NIST and the OECD. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
We do not sell or share personal information
We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone for advertising or any other purpose.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, under the GDPR you also have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise these rights, email info@blueoceanlabs.io. We will reply within one month.
If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add a contact form, analytics, cookies or any other way of collecting information, we will update this policy before doing so and ask for your consent where the law requires it. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
